Our founders, a physician and a dentist, having first hand experience with alcohol and drug addiction, came into recovery with the help of a professional advocacy group which required rigorous monitoring. This model of recovery from addiction has been shown to have a success rate of about 90%.
The Evidence-Based Recovery Foundation, Inc. came into being from the conversations of these two doctors about the incredibly large disparity between the successful recoveries observed among monitored professionals, as well as other rigorously monitored groups such as probationers involved in Drug Courts, and the disappointingly low rates of recovery observed through traditional means. Quite simply, we created our program with the strong belief that what has been shown to work to the benefit of one group of addicted individuals should work for others.
Our program implements the core principles of structure and accountability which has been shown time and again to be crucial components in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
